Splayed-wing tarpon flies have been catching tarpon for many years now and remain a favorite of many long-time tarpon fishermen. With their wings tied splayed--concave sides facing outward--they have an enticing action all their own, especially when fished slowly in front of an advancing tarpon. Tied Keys-style, with a short (2"-3")tail
and a hackle or fur collar, and hand-painted eyes,
these flies deserve a place in every anglers arsenal.
Note: When two colors are described (e.g. 160) the first color describes the tail color, the second color describes the color of the hackle collar. |
