Ocean Sand Eels are often found in great numbers in offshore and deeper waters. If you're into deepwater "rip-fishing," this can be a very effective fly. Or use it whenever you need a large and more realistic sand eel pattern or even a small creek eel pattern.

This fly features a hand-shaped and hand-painted head of GSS (Gartside's Secret Stuff)to more realistically represent the large ocean sand eel. Like the Soft Hackle version, this fly is tied with long and webby and very active saddle hackles with a marabou collar, and has a lot of life to it--sure to tempt the "big ones."
