Couldn't think of a name for this fly until a friend of mine said that it looked like a "bait out of hell." Bad pun but it gave me an idea.Whatever it looks like, it certainly catches fish--and large ones at that. Especially bass.

Tied with two long and tempting splayed saddle hackles off the rear and with a wing of bucktail flanked by matching saddle feathers, this weighted fly is designed to be fished slow and deep, down where the big ones often lie.
