Gurglers are not only great flies for stripers, salmon, steelhead, freshwater bass and other gamefish; they're also "killer" flies to use when fishing for trout!
On some rivers--like Michigan's Au Sable or New York's Delaware--they're considered by many to be THE "big fish" fly.
Most effective in smooth-flowing rivers and streams
and on lakes and ponds, where the "commotion" created by the Gurgler's
lip attracts fish that might not otherwise be feeding. Simply cast it out and retrieve it with occasional twitches and "gurgles." And hold on!
When two colors are used in the description the first color refers to the color of the foam shell, the second to the color of the marabou tail and/or ribbing hackle. |
