Coondog The Coondog is one of my early streamer patterns, dating back to the late 1960's, when I was living in a tent on the Madison River eking out an existence by selling flies to fellow campers and also to Bud Lilly's Trout Shop in West Yellowstone.

This fly has caught a lot of fish for me over the years, especially western brown trout, which seem to have a peculiar fondness for this medium-length streamer.

Tied on a super-sharp Daiichi salmon/steelhead hook with a wide gap.

Recommended Sizes:  2, 4,

Recommended Colors:  barred raccoon/tan,
