The Floating Minnow is a very effective fly when fish are feeding selectively upon baitfish on or near the surface. Each fly is hand-colored along the top and sides, with hand-painted eyes added for realism. While it is best fished with a floating or slow-sinking intermediate line, you can also fish it deep on a sinking line so that the fly rides above obstructions on the bottom.

Note: the # 1 size is tied on a regular shank hook, the others on a long-shank hook. Also, this version is tied without the "beard" common in many of my other floating minnows.
