You can mail your order using my downloadable order form. Or you can put your order together using using my online shopping cart, and then print and mail the checkout page that contains your order details.

Shipping, Taxes, and Billing

US Shipping

My primary shipping method within the United States is US Priority Mail. Priority Mail mail typically takes 4-5 business days within the continental US. Additional methods may be available during checkout or upon request.

Orders placed online are charged shipping using real-time rates from the USPS database. Orders placed by mail using my downloadable order form or by phone are charged a flat fee based on the dollar amount of the purchase.

Massachusetts residents must pay a 6.25% sales tax. I know, I don't like it either.


Your payment is not billed (for credit cards) or deposited (for checks) until your order ships.

Order and Shipping Confirmation

When you place an order through the web site you will be sent an automated email that confirms the order. Typically you should receive this email within minutes (although sometimes it can take a little longer).

If you do not receive an email verifying your order within a few hours:

  • Verify that the email address you submitted with your order is correct.
  • If your email program includes a folder named Bulk, Junk, Spam, or similar, check it; odds are that's where your email ended up. Also check to see whether your ISP filters or blocks email from unknown senders.
  • If you still can't find the email, please contact me. I will forward you a copy of your order.


If for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, I will be happy to accept a return for replacement or refund within 30 days of receipt. If you need to return an item, please contact me first to make arrangements. Refunds without prior clearance will not be issued.

Return shipping charges are the purchaser's responsibility as is any damage or loss that may occur in transit. I recommend insuring any item you return. Flies and tying materials must be returned unused in their original container. Once the returned item has been received in its original, re-sellable condition, I will provide a replacement or reimburse you for the full amount paid for the order minus any outbound shipping charges.

Lost, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If an item is lost or damaged during shipping, or if an incorrect item is shipped, I will provide a replacement at no additional cost. To receive a replacement, you must contact me within 30 days of receipt. At my discretion, you may be required to return a damaged or incorrect item prior to receiving a replacement. In such a case you will be reimbursed for the return shipping, either in cash or in the form of merchandise equal in value to the return shipping cost. For international orders, additional conditions may apply. Please see the section on international orders below.

Changing or Canceling an Order

If you need to change or cancel an order, please contact me with the details as soon as possible.

International Orders

Shipping Methods: All international orders are shipped by the United States Postal Service (USPS) First-Class Mail International or Priority Mail International. Both typically take the same amount of time for delivery (generally speaking, allowable package weight is the main difference between the two). First-Class Mail International and Priority Mail International do not provide tracking information. I have shipped many orders to customers outside of the US over the years and, except for delays, have never had a problem. However, because of the complexities of international shipping, I cannot be responsible for international packages lost during shipping. If you would like to pay extra for Express Mail International (not available to all countries), please contact me before placing your order. This service includes a unique identifying number for your package. Express Mail International costs an additional $20 (approximately).

Customs and Duties: All Customs/VAT fees & duties are the sole responsibility of the customer. Law requires that the value and the contents of all international packages be specified on a customs form attached to the outside of each package.

Restrictions: Some countries may restrict the importation of natural fly tying material such as feathers, bucktails, etc. For a list of restricted or prohibited items for your country, please see Look for the "Individual Country Listings" heading. I am not responsible for the seizure or destruction by customs or import authorities of any restricted items that you order.

Delivery Time: Estimated time of international delivery according to the US Postal Service is 7-14 business days but deliveries frequently take longer. Most shipments to the United Kingdom, France, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, etc. take about 2-3 weeks. Some packages may arrive sooner, but others are occasionally delayed as much as 4-6 weeks. Many mail deliveries to Italy experience significant delays.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take you to fill an order?

Orders typically ship within five to ten days. Note however that I'm a one-man operation and if/when I am travelling I'm not able to fill orders. I'll do my best to alert you when this is the case.

I have an order that I need by a certain date. How can I make sure I get my order on time?

If you have an order that you absolutely must have by a certain date, please state so when placing your order. Also include an email address so I have a way to contact you. I'll do my best to prioritize your order so that it gets there on time. If for whatever reason it's not possible to fill the order in time I'll contact you as soon as possible and if you want you can cancel the order.

What if an item I order is out of stock?

Items that are currently out of stock are always clearly marked as such on the Web site.

Can I have an order shipped to someone as a gift?

Absolutely. Just specify the name and address of the recipient when placing your order. If you'd like a gift note enclosed please indicate so when you place your order.
